The making of Eyes

This is how I made the eyes for one of my newest works... I love this style that I used!
You don't really need to make a ton of highlights if you want to make a character look pretty (unless the actual environment where the character exists is full of light sources or objects that reflect a lot of light)
Many do the mistake of making too many highlights just to make the subject in question pretty. You need to study eyes and how they reflect light, because not all highlights are round or spreading in a line over the eye. Here I showed, through a round highlight, that the character is in a environment with the main light source being the sun! If your character is in a, for example, dark room with only the window as a main light source, he's/she's/it's highlights will look in different ways, depending in how is situated from it. If the character in question is with the back at the window, is most likely to not have a highlight at all!
